Baseball Swept by Hardin-Simmons

The Hardin-Simmons Cowboys finished off a three game sweep of the Wildcats Saturday with a 13-3 win in 7 innings. LC falls to 9-23 on the season and 4-14 in ASC play this year. They will travel to Ozarks next weekend for their final road series of the season.

Hardin-Simmons got on the board in the first behind two extra base hits in the inning and led 3-0 after the first. Deauton Delgado led off the second with a solo home run to right, his first of the year, making the score 3-1. The Cowboys would pull away however in the bottom of the inning scoring 3 more runs on a single and two sacrifice flies making it 6-1 after two.

Sully Martin provided an RBI single in the fourth and Dylan Roy got an RBI on a groundout in the seventh for the only other runs in the game for the Wildcats. Martin went 3 for 4 at the dish and added to his new school record for steals with one more. Cody McNeal also provided 2 hits in the game for LC. Of the four pitchers LC used Tyler Dixon was the most effective going 2.0 innings of shutout baseball with only 1 hit allowed.

The Wildcats make their final road trip of the year next weekend to Clarksville, AR to take on University of the Ozarks. The series will start with a double-header on Friday at 2pm and end on Saturday with a single game at 1pm. The Wildcats final home series will be the following weekend against ETBU in Pineville.
