Baseball Swings Past Texas College

Louisiana College (9-20, 4-11) used 9 different pitchers and 26 different posistion players to take an 11-3 victory over Texas College Tuesday night.  The win was the Wildcats fourth in the last six games played.  The team will travel to Abilene, TX this weekend for a three game ASC series agaisnt Hardin-Simmons.

Charlie Waddingham started the game for the Wildcats pitching a 1-2-3 top of the first before Coach Mike Byrnes went to the bullpen for the next 8 innings with each pitcher only going 1.0 inning a piece. Waddingham picked up his first win of the season after a Logan Phillips single brought in the first run of the game in the bottom of the first.  

Kiefer Moore and Tyler Lamers each had 3 hits in the game for the Wildcats and the team had 12 total, 7 of which went for extra bases.  Moore and Sully Martin both hit home runs in the game, Moore a 3-run shot to left and Martin a solo bomb that hit the top of the scoreboard.  Logan Phllips, Tim Griffith, and Dylan Keller all hit a double, and Kiefer Moore and Tyler Lamers both had triples in the game.

The Wildcats will face off with Hardin-Simmons (18-12, 12-6) this weekend, who currently sit in second place in the conference standings behind Concorida.  The series will start with a double-header on Friday with games at 4pm and 6pm and end on Saturday with a single game at 1pm.
