Box Score For the second night in a row an 8-run Concordia inning would prove to be the downfall of the LC baseball team as the Tornado would ride that outburst to a 10-4 win in the finale and a series sweep over the Wildcats.
Already with a 1-0 lead after 2 innings the Tornados plated 8 runs in the top of the 3rd on 6 hits and 2 costly Wildcat errors. Â As the Wildcats did in the first two games of the series they would not quit and scored 3-runs in the bottom of the 3rd on 4 hits and 2 Concordia errors. Â Sully Martin and Zane Corbell got things started with back to back singles to start the inning. Â Martin would later score on one of the 2 errors in the inning and Corbell would come in on a Keifer Moore single. Â Matt Fontenot would get a pinch hit RBI ground out for the Wildcats final run of the frame. Â LC would add one more in the 5th inning when Dylan Keller drove in Payton Poche on an RBI single up the middle.Â
Both teams sprayed the ball around the yard, combining for 24 hits in the 3rd game alone. Sully Martin had a great day going 3-5 at the plate, as well as
Dylan Keller who went 3-4 with an RBI, and
Zane Corbell was 2-5.
The Wildcats will travel to Longview, TX to take on LeTourneau in a three game series starting on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday. Â The will return home, and finish out the 5 games in 3 days stretch, to take on Rust College in a doubleheader on Sunday April 3 at Billy Allgood Field. Â Game 1 of that doubleheader is scheduled for 1pm with game 2 at 3pm.
