Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

For the second time this year Louisiana College was swept in a three game series against Belhaven University, this time in Jackson, MS.  Just as in the series in Pineville where the Wildcats and Blazers played close games that ended within a couple of runs.  This time Belhaven would take Game 1 by a score of 4-1 and Game 2 with a score of 9-5.

The Wildcats only managed 3 hits in the 7-inning first game of the doubleheader, a double by Dylan Keller in the third, a single by Logan Phillips in the fourth, and a single by Cody McNeal in the sixth while the Blazers scratched out 7, all agaisnt Wildcats pitcher Charlie Waddingham, who pitched the full game.  LC's lone run of the game came in the top of the fourth when Cody McNeal scampered home on a wild pitch that got away from Belhaven catcher Tee Payne.

Waddingham (0-3) allowed 4 runs, only 2 of them earned, over his six inning of work, and struck out three, while Belhaven sent 4 pitchers to the mound with Tyler Ezell pitching the most at 2.2 innings surrendering 2 of the Wildcats 3 hits in the game.

In the series finale LC would jump out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second on double steal of third and home that allowed Keifer Moore to score and then an RBI single by Logan Krajcer brought in Tim Griffith.  The Blazers would answer though with a 4-run bottom of the third when 4 straight batters reached with 2-outs in the inning.

The Wildcats were shut down until the sixth inning when Tim Griffith doubled in Dylan Keller but Griffith was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple.  Belhaven would answer the Wildcats run with 2 of their own in the bottom of the inning with three singles.  The Blazers then added runs in the seventh and eighth innings to extend their lead to 9-3 heading to the top of the ninth.  The Wildcats final at-bat produced 2 when Keifer Moore scored on a Kevin Mahl Jr. groundout and Ashton Martin coming in on a wild pitch.

Call Florence (1-3) took the loss for the WIldcats, going 5.0 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 5 strikeouts.  Tim Griffith and Logan Krajcer led the offense going 3-4 in the game each with an RBI a piece.

The Wildcats (4-13, 2-4) will return to Billy Allgood Field this week to take on Concordia University (12-9, 4-2) with a single game scheduled for Thursday at 4pm and a doubleheader scheduled for Good Friday with Game 1 at 1pm and Game 2 at 3pm.
