Box Score 4 The Lady Wildcats have went 2-2 over the last week.
It started out with the Wildcats beating LeTourneau University at home 73-71. A layup by
RyDeja McQuarn with 8 seconds left to play put LC up 73-71. LeTourneau tried to tie it up at the buzzer, but a steal by
Brooke Jones sealed the win.
Kourtney Mcghee led the Wildcats in scoring with 17 points.
Brooke Jones followed up with a double-double, adding 15 points and 10 boards.
Jakasia Newton finished out the Wildcats in double digit points, adding in 12 of her own.
The Lady Wildcats won again in last second fashion, as they toppled rival East Texas Baptist 67-65.
Kortney Kling was the player that sealed the victory on this night, as she made a layup with 17 seconds to go to take a 66-65 lead. She added a free throw with 2 seconds left in the game to extend the lead 67-65. ETBU couldn't hit the last second shot, giving the Wildcats a thrilling victory.
Kortney Kling was high point, scoring 18 points and adding 12 boards for a double-double.
Brooke Jones put in 13 points herself.
The Wildcats travelled to Longview to take on LeTourneau. LC went into halftime down by 12 points, then were outscored 24-6 in the third. A fierce offensive explosion in the fourth quarter, scoring 26 points wasn't enough to close the gap, leaving the final score 77-61 in LeTourneau's favor.
RyDeja McQuarn led the wildcats with 25 points.
To finish out the week, the Wildcats had a tough task, taking on the No. 5 ranked team in the nation, UT-Tyler Patriots on their home floor. The lady Cats gave the Patriots all they wanted the week prior in Pineville, but couldn't do the same on the road. The Wildcats lost 52-105.
RyDeja McQuarn was high point again, scoring 20 points for the Wildcats.
The Lady Wildcats have three games left on the schedule. They play UT-Dallas and the University of the Ozarks on the road, before coming back to Pineville for their season finale vs. Belhaven University on February 20th at 1:00 p.m.
