Box Score 3 Baseball drops three games vs. Belhaven (4-1) in Pineville over the weekend.
Friday night saw an explosion of offense, with the Wilcats taking the loss 10-12. Â In a game that had a combined 22 runs, 25 hits, and 8 errors,
Tripp Davis (1-1) got the loss. Â Despite in a losing effort,
Austin Thompson had a strong  start for the Wildcats, going 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, striking out 6 and walking 3.  From an offensive side, five Wildcats got multiple hits. Â
Sully Martin,
Kiefer Moore,
Deauton Delgado,
Tyler Lamers, and
Ashton Martin all got 2 hits each. Â Moore and Martin both had 2 RBI's, with Delgado, Lamers, and Phillips all had 1 RBI.
In game one of the Saturday double header, LC lost a close game 2-3. Â In a game that was opposite of the night before,
Taylor Falgoust (0-1) got the loss. Â
Charlie Waddingham had a strong start; however, pitching 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and 5 strike outs. Â
Kiefer Moore and
Zane Corbell led the bats for Louisiana College. Â Moore went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's, and Corbell went 2-3.
In the series finale, the Blazers scored 9 of its 10 runs in the first three innings, eventually giving LC the loss 3-10. Â Five pitchers combined to throw the 7 inning game, with
Tyler Lamers (1-1) getting the loss. Â The pitching staff combined to give up 10 runs (6 earned) on 11 hits, striking out 3 and walking 5. Â
Kiefer Moore continued his good day at the plate, going 2-4. Â
Sully Martin also drove in an RBI.
The series drops the Wildcats to 2-7 overall. Â They start conference play Friday, February 26th, in a three game series vs. Howard Payne. Â They have one game that Friday at 6:00 p.m., and two the following day starting at noon.
