Seguin, Texas - The Louisiana College Wildcats dropped their second straight game to start the 2015 season on Saturday, as they fell to the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 38-14 at Bulldog Stadium in Seguin, Texas.

It marks the third straight year that the Wildcats have been defeated by the Bulldogs, and the first time since 2010 that LC has begun a season 0-2. The Wildcats would end up finishing 7-3 and as American Southwest Conference Runner-Ups that season.

LC's 14 points is also their lowest offensive output against a Division III opponent since a 30-3 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2012.

The Wildcats scored first in the game, taking a 7-0 lead six minutes into the game when Easton Melancon hooked up with running back Devin Sylve on a 26 yard touchdown pass to give LC the early lead.

The Wildcats would play a strong first half defensively, which gave them time to take a 14-10 lead with 10:49 left in the first half when Melancon found Farron Jones for a 19 yard touchdown.

But the Bulldogs would answer late in the half, taking a 17-14 lead into the locker after running back A.J. Saucedo scored from 1 yard out to give TLU the lead with 2:02 left on the clock in the 2nd quarter.

The was as close as LC would get the rest of the way, as the Bulldogs outscored the Wildcats 21-0 in the second half to pull away for the 38-14.

The Wildcats struggled to slow down the run for the second consecutive game, as TLU racked up 300 rushing yards on 53 carries on the night, led by A.J. Saucedo's 133 yards and three touchdowns.

LC junior running back Aurren Cooksey had the best game of his career so far in the blue and orange, running 17 times for 150 yards while freshman linebacker Orel Ledet, Jr. collected a game-high 18 tackles, 12 of which were solo.

The Wildcats will look to get back on track next week, as they take on primary rival East Texas Baptist in the annual "Battle for the Border Claw" in Marshall, Texas next Saturday at 7 p.m.
