The Louisiana College baseball team, riding a wave of momentum off their doubleheader sweep the night before, pulled off an intense, come-from-behind win on Friday against the Ozarks Eagles, as the Wildcats took game three by a final score of 4-3 to pull off the series sweep and put themselves back in the mix of the ASC standings.

Trailing 3-1 going into the bottom of the eighth inning,  the Wildcats scored three runs in their half of the inning before senior reliever Ron Anders shut the door in the ninth inning to secure the win.

The Eagles got on the board first, as they took their first lead of the entire series in the top of the first inning when Sam Shook led off the game with a double to deep right centerfield and eventually driven in by Zach Walker on an RBI single.

Ozarks would extend that lead to 2-0 on an RBI double to deep centerfield by Andrew Beck that scored Shook.

The Wildcats got their first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on a leadoff home run by senior first baseman Mark Riendeau that hit the top of the left field fence just in front of the scoreboard to put the Cats back in the game at 2-1.

After the Eagles took a 3-1 lead in the top of the eighth on an RBI sac fly to right field by first baseman John Singler, the Wildcats found themselves in a serious hole for the first time the whole series.

But the Cats were determined on this Friday afternoon, as senior second baseman Cary Myers led off the bottom of the eighth with a single to left field and was followed with a double down the left field line by Kade Van Norman to put runners on second and third for freshman left fielder Dylan Keller.

Keller came through in a big way, as his second hit of the game, a double to centerfield, drove in Van Norman and pinch runner Cody McNeal to tie the game at 3-3.

Sophomore designated hitter Dylan Roy would then hit a sac fly to right field later in the inning that scored Keller and put LC ahead 4-3, their first lead of the game.

Anders would then shut the door in the ninth inning, striking out all three batters he faced to close the door and secure the win, and the series sweep, for the Wildcats.

LC moves to 9-16 overall and 7-14 in ASC play with the sweep. They will return to action on Monday with a doubleheader against in-state opponent Loyola University beginning at 2:00 p.m.
