st ranked Louisiana College softball team dropped both games of their Sunday doubleheader against #2 Texas-Tyler, falling in game one 4-1 before dropping game two 8-0 at Coca-Cola Field in Pineville.

Game one started with a bang, as LC senior third baseman
Laura Gulotta-Parrish put the Lady Cats ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run for the second consecutive day, her fourth home run of the season.

That lead would hold until the top of the fourth inning when UT-Tyler when pinch runner Kurtsen Jaime stole home while Kristen Lopez was stuck in a run down between first and second base to tie the game at 1-1.

UT-Tyler would then take the lead in the top of the fifth on an RBI single from Vanessa Carrizales that drove in second baseman Shelby Shelton to give the Patriots a 2-1 lead.

The visitors would get the final runs of game one in the top of the seventh on another RBI from Carrizales followed by an RBI double to centerfield by catcher KK Stevens to put UT-Tyler ahead 4-1.

LC freshman pitcher
Darian Thacker took the loss in game one despite one of her best efforts of the season, as she gave up eight hits and four earned runs in six innings of work against the powerful Patriot lineup.

Jordan Mason helped lead the LC offense along with Gulotta-Parrish, as she went 2-for-4 in game one.

UT-Tyler's bats were too much for LC to overcome in game two, as the Patriots won 8-0 in five innings after a five run fourth inning helped them pull away from the Lady Wildcats.

Carrizales led the Patriots in game two once again, as she went 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run and two RBI.
Â
The Lady Wildcats finish the regular season at 26-11 overall and 21-8 in ASC play, which places them in third place in the final conference standings. They will take on LeTourneau in the first round of the 2015 ASC Tournament on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Texas-Tyler's Suddenlink Field.
