Tyler, TX - Following a 90 minute rain delay, the Louisiana College baseball team dropped a 9-1 decision to the UT-Tyler Patriots on Saturday night at Irwin Field in Tyler, Texas to snap their three game losing streak.

UT-Tyler starting pitcher Jaime Paxton kept the Wildcat hitters off balance all night, as he struck out seven and gave up just two hits over seven innings of work while the Patriot bats were led by designated hitter Kevan House, who drove in four runs on the night.

UT-Tyler got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning when Buddy McCoy hit a two-out triple into the right field corner and came around to score one batter later on an misplayed ground ball at second base off the bat of House.

The Patriots added another run in the second when left fielder Blake Bonnin led off the inning with a double and eventually scored on a throwing error by LC shortstop James Santiago with one out.

The Wildcats would load the bases with just one out in the bottom of the third inning, but a Garrett Parsons walk with two outs that brought in Kade Van Norman would be all that Paxton would give up, as he got out of the jam and ended LC's last big opportunity to get back in the game.

With Paxton settled in, the Patriot bats took over the rest of the way out, scoring two more runs in the bottom half of the third on a two-run homer from House and four runs in the bottom of the fifth to effectively put the game out of reach.

LC (6-8 overall, 4-6 in ASC play) will get another shot at the Patriots (11-5, 8-2) on Sunday, as the two teams will square off in a doubleheader beginning at noon to close out the series.
