Â
With freshman right-hander
Trey Ducote making his first career start, the Wildcats held the Tors scoreless through the first three innings to take a 0-0 game into the fourth inning.
Â
But Concordia's bats were able to break through in the bottom of the fourth as Michael Evan hit a one-out single up the middle and advanced to third one batter later on a double by Garrett Benyo down the left field line.
Â
Evan would score one batter later when Race Mellman reached on a fielding error to give the Tors a 1-0 lead.
Â
Concordia would then put together a huge inning in the fifth, scoring four runs on two hits to jump out to a 5-0 lead.
Â
After two more CTX runs in the sixth, the Wildcats would answer with their first score of the day in the top of the seventh when back-to-back doubles from
Mark Riendeau and
Garrett Parsons put LC on the board at 7-1.
Â
LC's final runs of the day came in the eighth when
Brandon Estrada reached third and eventually scored on a wild pitch before a
Garrett Parsons bases loaded walk brought home
Sully Martin.
Â
The Wildcats fall to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play. They will take one Howard Payne next weekend in an ASC series beginning on Friday night.
