The Lady Cats trailed by four going into the fourth quarter, but took their defense up a notch to hold McMurry to just 8 points in the final 10 minutes of regulation to force overtime, highlighted by two clutch free throws from
Rometta Lombard to tie the game at 65-65.

LC would have a chance to tie the game late in overtime, as McMurry's Chelsie Lail missed two free throws with her team ahead 72-70 with six seconds left on the clock, but Taylor Russell was able to grab the offensive rebound and retain possession for McMurry, which eventually sealed the win for the vistors.

Russell was a force in the post all afternoon for McMurry, as she finished with a game-high 23 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals.

Kortney Kling had the best game of her career for the Lady Cats, as she scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds  to go along with 4 blocks and 3 steals.

LC freshman guard had her second career 20-point game, as she hit four 3-pointers to finish with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

The Lady Cats will travel to Marshall, Texas next Thursday to face conference rival East Texas Baptist, as LC will hope to collect their first win of the season against the Lady Tigers.
