Marshall, Texas - Following a stretch where they played three games in a five day stretch last week, the Louisiana College women's basketball team took full advantage of their five day break by taking down rival East Texas Baptist 95-78 on Thursday night in Marshall, Texas to sweep the season series between the two teams.

The night was also noteworthy for LC senior guard Neka Jones, whose 14 three-point attempts in the game put her at 583 for her career, breaking the American Southwest Conference career record of 580 previously held by the Ozarks' Erica Eneks.

The Lady Wildcats came out on fire in the first half, as they took a 57-44 lead into the locker room due in large part to their nine three-pointers in the first twenty minutes.
Senior Skylar Chenevert led LC in scoring and rebounding in the first half with 16 points on 5-9 shooting from the field and seven rebounds.

Despite not shooting the ball quite as well from the field in the second half, the Lady Cats were able to continue to pull away from ETBU by dominating on the glass, as they pulled down 27 second half rebounds (12 offensive) compared to just 17 (3 offensive) for the Lady Tigers.

LC outrebounded ETBU 53-37 for the game and shot an amazing 88.9% (24-27) from the free-throw line.

The Lady Tigers would not get closer than 11 points the entire second half, with LC taking their largest lead at the 8:17 mark when Keana Frank's layup gave the Lady Cats a 20 point advantage at 82-62.

Chenevert led LC with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow senior Danisha Allison also recorded a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

With the win, LC moves to 10-4 on the season and 7-4 in ASC play, which keeps them alone in third place in the conference standings.

The Lady Cats also got some help from ASC leader Texas-Tyler, as the nation's 12th ranked team took down UT-Dallas 69-59, which puts LC within two games of UT-Dallas (13-3, 9-2 in ASC) for second place in the conference standings.

The Lady Cats will host their first home game of the season on Saturday against LeTourneau at 1:00 p.m., as Louisiana College will dedicate their new floor between the men's and women's games. Saturday's doubleheader against LeTourneau will also be the annual "Fill The Fieldhouse" game where all fans will receive free admission.
