TYLER, TX - The Louisiana College softball team saw their 2014 season come to an end on Saturday night, as the Lady Wildcats fell to East Texas Baptist by a final score of 5-0 in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Tournament at Suddenlink Field in Tyler, TX.

The Lady Cats started their day off in exciting fashion, as they took down Mary Hardin-Baylor 8-2 in their first elimination game of the day.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Nancy Bunting was outstanding in the circle against UMHB, tossing a complete game while giving up six hits and two earned runs to pick up the win.

Sophomore first baseman Sandra Ouchley led LC offensively against the Crusaders, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and four RBI.

That win against UMHB set up an elimination game matchup against ETBU, the nation's eighth-ranked team and the #2 seed in the tournament.

Despite riding the momentum they gained from their win just minutes earlier, the Lady Cats were unable to hold down the Tigers, as ETBU took the 5-0 win, their 19th consecutive victory in a row.

ETBU third baseman Jessica Bowden gave the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single in the top of the second inning off of LC starting pitcher Madison Vige, which would be all the nation's #8 team would need the rest of the way.

ETBU center fielder Kayla Garcia led the Lady Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Vige was tagged with the loss, going 2.2 innings and giving up three earned runs on five hits and three hit by pitches.

The Lady Wildcats finish the 2014 season with a record of 24-15.
