In game one of the final regular season doubleheader of the season, senior right-hander
Madison Lachney tossed his 10th complete game of the season to pick up his sixth win of the season, as
Kyle Feazell's first inning RBI double to left center set the tone for the 3-1 postseason clinching win.
Following Feazell's RBI double, the senior catcher would later come around to score on a wild pitch from ETBU ace Zack Tampke to put LC up 2-0 after the first inning.
Feazell would then score the Wildcats' final run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning when he came around to score on a
Matt Scott RBI double that hit at the very top of the wall in left center field to give LC a 3-0 advantage.
ETBU would then have a serious threat to take the game's momentum into their hands, as they loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the sixth inning.
An RBI single to left field by Tiger designated hitter Josh Warbington drew ETBU closer at 3-1, but Lachney would retire the next three batters to get out of the jam, and the senior stormed off the field in a jolt of emotion rarely seen from the normally stoic veteran right-hander.
The Wildcats would seal the win with one of the best catches seen all season at Wildcat Field, as center fielder
Jermaine Liggins dove full extension to snag a soft line drive by Tiger catcher Wes Dorough that ended the game.
ETBU would go on to take game two by a final score of 9-7, as the Wildcats were able to get many of their backup position players valuable experience before the conference tournament.
Senior first baseman
Jake Hillman (3-for-5) and senior center fielder
Chaston LaCaze (2-for-4) made the most out of their final home starts at LC, while freshman catcher
Brennan Castello hit his second career home run in his fifth career at-bat.
The Wildcats finish the regular season at 16-23 overall and 15-18 in ASC play.
