The Louisiana College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to the LSU-Alexandria Generals on Tuesday night in Alexandria, falling in game one 2-0 before being downed in game two 11-1.

A tremendous effort by three LC freshman pitchers was overshadowed in game one by a dominant complete game one-hit shutout by LSU-A left handed pitcher Corey Thomas.

Bond Babin led off the Generals' half of the first inning by reaching on an error by Wildcat first baseman Garrett Parsons, and eventually moved to second base on the error. After successfully stealing third base, Babin was driven in on an RBI sacrifice fly to centerfield by first baseman TJ Trantham to give LSU-A an early 1-0 advantage.

Michael Collado would give the Generals their only other run in the bottom of the third inning, when his RBI single to centerfield brought home Trantham to put LSU-A out in front 2-0.

LC third baseman Will Currier collected LC's only hit in game one on a hard hit single into left field off of Thomas.

Game two was a much different story, as the Generals jumped out on top early by scoring nine runs and collecting eight hits in the first two innings combined on their way to an 11-1 win.

LC would get on the board in the top of the fourth inning when a Mark Riendeau two-out double down the left field line was followed with a Garrett Parsons RBI single to left field to give the Wildcats their only run of the day.

The pair of wins by LSU-A on Tuesday dropped LC's record to 8-16 on the year. However, with LC still squarely in the ASC Tournament picture, the Wildcats will travel to Clarksville, AR for a another critical weekend conference series against the Ozarks, which is scheduled to begin on Friday with a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
