Louisiana College softball senior second baseman Stephanie Jaeger stole her 70th career base on Saturday, tying the LC career school record, while freshman Kimber Gruehl hit her first career walk-off home run, a three run bomb that gave LC an 11-2 win over Hardin-Simmons on Saturday in the series finale.

Box Score
The Cowgirls got off to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when HSU second baseman Mac Clay came around to score on a throwing error by LC starting pitcher Nancy Bunting.

After LC started off the bottom of the second inning with a Laura Gulotta-Parrish hit by pitch and a Candice Biggs walk, freshman Kimber Gruehl lined an RBI single down the left field line to score Gulotta-Parrish.

Two batters later, Jaeger hit a shot off the first base bag that deflected into right field for a two RBI single that put LC out in front 3-1.

After HSU got back into the game with a run in their half of the third inning, LC bounced back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI sac fly to right field by jaeger and a bases loaded walk by catcher Courtney Ivey.

LC then added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth with another sac fly to right by Jaeger and a two RBI single to right field by first baseman Sandra Ouchley to put LC out in front 8-2.

The Lady Cats then put the game away with a walk-off three-run home run by Greuhl, the first walk-off home run of her LC career, to give LC the win via eight-run rule.

Jaeger finished the day 1-for-1 with four RBI and the history making stolen base while Gruehl finished 3-for-4 with four RBI of her own.

Bunting went the distance, giving up just two hits and not allowing an earned run to move to 4-0 on the season. The Lady Wildcats will take the field again on Friday night against rival Mississippi College at 6 p.m. in Clinton, MS.
