The Louisiana College Wildcats dropped a 10-7 decision to in-state opponent LSU-Shreveport on Tuesday, as the Pilots used a six run sixth inning to seize the momentum and take the win.

The Wildcat appeared to take control of the game after a three run fourth inning and another run in the fifth inning gave them a 4-1 advantage.

LC scored their three runs in the third on a Matt Scott RBI double down the left field line that drove in Mark Riendeau and Kyle Feazell. Senior shortstop Taylor Beavers then followed that with an RBI double to left center that plated Scott.

Scott would help to get LC another run in the fifth inning when his sharply hit ground ball deflected off of Pilot third baseman William Breland's glove and gave Kade Van Norman a chance to score to put LC out in front 4-1.

But the Pilots would answer immediately with a six run frame in the top of the sixth inning, as they used four hits, four walks, and one Wildcat error to take the lead back at 7-4.

The Wildcats would fight back in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game with three runs on five hits, but LC was unable to hold off the Pilot bats in the eighth inning, as LSU-S catcher David Dorton hit an eventual game-winning two RBI past the glove of a diving Cary Myers to give the Pilots a 9-7 lead.

Freshman pitcher Austin Taylor took the loss for LC, who dropped to 5-11 overall. The Wildcats will travel to Alpine, TX this weekend for a critical ASC series with Sul Ross which will begin Friday at 7 p.m.
