Doc Welch to cut the lead to 75-72 with
1:05 left, and then pulled to within one again, 75-74, on a layup by sophomore
Kevin Lewis with :47 left. Lewis could have tied the game as he was fouled on the play, but he missed the free – one of six missed free throws for the Wildcats in the game's final eight minutes.
The Cowboys then put away the game on a 3-point dagger from Charles Sams with just 17 second left. LC's
Kevin Cottonham, who finished as his team's leading scorer with 21 points along with 10 assits, missed a driving layup on the ensuing possession. Sams hit two free throws with 8 seconds left before Lewis ended the scoring with a slam dunk as time expired.

Raheem Regis with 13 along with 9 rebounds, Evans had 11 and Lewis finished with 10.
