Cedar Park, TX - The Louisiana College softball team continued their scorching start to the 2014 season with a 14-5 win in five innings over Concordia in Cedar Park, TX on Saturday afternoon to complete a three-game series sweep of the Tornadoes.

The Lady Wildcats once again struck first in the series finale, as
Sandra Ouchley started the scoring in the top of the first inning with a two-run double to centerfield that brought in
Stephanie Jaeger and
Meagan Pearson.

Pearson would continue to be a nightmare for Concordia pitchers in the top of the second inning when she smashed a grand slam to left field to put LC up 6-0. It was Pearson's second home run of the series.

Concordia would answer back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the third inning, but the Lady Wildcat bats would storm back with eight more runs combined in the fourth and fifth inning to put the game out of reach and ensure another 3-0 ASC weekend.

LC's five runs in the fourth inning came on a Jaeger RBI single to center, another two-run double by Ouchley down the left field line, and a two-run single by
Candice Biggs that drove in Ouchley and catcher
Courtney Ivey.

Pearson put the exclamation point on the weekend sweep when she hit her third home run of the series, a three-run shot over the left center field wall.

Sophomore pitcher
Nancy Bunting got the start in the circle for LC and picked up the win after giving up three earned runs and striking out two in 2.2 innings of work before handing the ball to freshman
Taylor Leger, who threw the final 2.1 innings in relief.

Pearson would finish the day 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, seven RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base. For the series, the senior shortstop finished 8-for-12 (.667) with three home runs, two doubles, eight runs scored, 14 RBI, and a stolen base for the Lady Wildcats, who outscored Concordia 37-5 over the three game set.

LC sits at 6-1 overall with a perfect 6-0 ASC record and will take the field again on Friday against The University of the Ozarks at home at 3 p.m.
