Belton, TX - A strong second half comeback by Mary Hardin-Baylor ended the Louisiana College's undefeated season on Thursday night as the Crusaders downed the Lady Wildcats 94-87 in Belton, TX.

After a strong first half that saw LC take a 52-43 lead into the half, it appeared the Lady Cats would have no problem putting the Crusaders away and staying perfect on the young season.

Senior forward Danisha Allison knocked down a pair of free throws at 17:31 mark of the second half to give the Lady Cats an 18 point lead, their biggest of the night, at 66-48.

But UMHB would go on a furious 28-9 run over the next 11 minutes to take a 76-75 lead at the 6:08 mark, their first lead since early in the first half.

LC would fight back to tie the game at 86-86 with just over two minutes left in regulation, but an 8-1 run to end the game by the Cru would close out a huge early season win for UMHB and knock the Lady Cats off the ranks of the unbeaten in the ASC.

The loss came despite the Lady Cats' best shooting night of the year from behind the three-point line, as they knocked down a season-high nine three-pointers on 22 attempts, good for 40.9% from deep.

The Crusaders had the advantage on the boards, however, as they outrebounded the Lady Cats 56-48 and forced 22 LC turnovers.

Senior guard Neka Jones scored a team-high 25 points for LC before fouling out in the second half.

Allison recorded a double-double with 17 points and team-high 11 rebounds and four steals.

UMHB guard Alyssa Dean led all scorers with 27 points while senior forward Taylor Tucker had a double-double with 18 points and game-high 12 rebounds.

LC (5-1, 2-1 in ASC play) will wrap up their road swing with a 1 p.m. matchup against Concordia on Saturday in Austin, TX.
