Anna Phillips' jumper with three seconds left off of a Skylar Chenevert assist proved to be the game wining points in Louisiana College's 50-48 win over Schreiner on Saturday as part of the Southwestern University Thanksgiving Classic in Georgetown, TX.

After Schreiner's Sebriyaah Fennell hit a jumper 1:36 left in regulation, the Lady Wildcats found themselves in a 48-46 hole, as the Mountaineers, a former American Southwest Conference member, threatened to end LC's early season unbeaten streak.

But after senior guard Neka Jones tied the game up with two free throws with 32 seconds remaining, the Lady Cats were able to come up with a defensive stop, and Chenevert's rebound off of a missed three-pointer from Kelsie Jackson turned into a game-winning basket for Phillips as LC took the win in an exciting first day of the tournament.

The Lady Cats had just one player in double figures in scoring, as senior forward Kaci Willis led LC with 12 points and six steals.

Senior center Danisha Allison led LC seven rebounds, as the Lady Cats were outrebounded by the Mountaineers 49-35.

Fennell led all scorers with 18 points.

Louisiana College (3-0, 1-0 in ASC) will play tomorrow at 2 p.m. against host Southwestern in the final day of the tournament.
