Hoping to improve their chances of hosting a first round series in the American Southwest Conference tournament, the Louisiana College baseball team took the first game of their three-game series with the University of the Ozarks by a final score of 12-7.
Junior catcher
Kyle Feazell continued his red hot streak at the plate as of late, going 3-for-6 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a home run to ignite the Wildcats' offense.
LC senior outfielder
Cole Bagbey also provided a little piece of history from his leadoff spot in the order, as he became just the eighth player in NCAA Division III baseball history to be hit by four pitches in one game. Bagbey finished 1-for-1 at the plate with three runs scored, one walk, one RBI, and two stolen bases.
Cary Myers,
Matt Scott, and
Kade Van Norman also added two hits a piece as LC finished with 15 hits.
Junior right handed pitcher
Madison Lachney was solid once again, throwing eight innings to pick up the win and move to 5-2 on the year.
With both LC (19-14, 9-4 in ASC play) and Texas-Tyler (27-8, 10-3) winning on Friday, the Wildcats remain one game behind the Patriots in the ASC East Division standings. LC will take on the Ozarks again on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
Seth Webster (7-2, 1.48 ERA) is expected to start game one for the Wildcats with
Josh Lang (4-3, 2.27 ERA) expected to go in game two.
