A 17 hit outburst from Louisiana College's offense combined with a shutout from seven different pitchers was enough for the Wildcats to take down Jarvis Christian 9-0 in Tuesday night's non-conference game.
The Wildcats, who have been swinging the bats much better as of late, were led at the plate by junior catcher
Kyle Feazell, who went 4-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored.
Kade Van Norman,
Matt Scott, and Colt Ducote also added two base hits each.
Freshman left handed pitcher
Tyler Dixon picked up his first career win, as he went two innings and gave up just one hit and struck out two.
The Wildcats picked up two runs in the first, third, and eighth innings, and also put up a three-spot in the seventh inning to piece together the 9-0 victory.
The win sets the stage for one of the most important ASC weekend series in recent memory for
Mike Byrnes' club, as they will travel to Clarksville, AR for a critical conference series that could potentially lock up home field advantage for the Wildcats (18-14 overall, 8-4 in ASC) in the first round of the ASC Tournament.
