Box Score PINEVILLE, La. – Louisiana College wasted no time in building what turned out to be an insurmountable lead here Friday night. The Wildcats scored 11 runs in the first two innings en route to a 17-6 over the Mountaineers of Schreiner in the first of a three-game series.
LC (4-6) scored its runs on 20 hits and committing no errors while Schreiner (5-11) produced its offense on 11 runs and committing four errors.
All nine starting batters for the Wildcats produced at least one hit.
Louisiana College sophomore left fielder
Mark Riendeau had the most productive night going 4-for-6 with two doubles and six RBI. Sophomore second baseman Carey Myers went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Junior designated hitter
Jake Hillman went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a pair of runs scored while sophomore third baseman Will Currier went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a run scored.
Junior
Madison Lachney (2-0) got the win working six complete innings and striking out four while walking none and allowing three earned runs.
Matt Valley (1-3) took the loss after lasting just 2/3 of an inning. Schreiner's top performer at the plate was designated hitter Tyler Ince who went 2-for-4 with a three-RBI triple.
The series will conclude with a noon doubleheader Saturday.
