Game One: LC - 8 Centenary - 0
The Lady Wildcats got the scoring started early with a massive three-run home run from shortstop
Meagan Pearson. The offensive attack did not stop from there, as LC piled on five more runs the rest of the way to shut out Centenary 8-0, winning by the eight-run mercy rule after five innings.
LC would add four runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two RBI double by
Meggie Burkett followed by an RBI triple from
Stephanie Jaeger.
Senior pitcher
Leslie Eastham was fantastic, going four inning and giving up only one hit while striking out four.
Eastham gave way to freshman
Nancy Bunting in the fifth, as the freshman closed out the game with a scoreless inning in her first career outing with the Lady Cats.
Pearson finished the game going 1-2 with three RBI and two runs scored. Burkett went 3-4 with three RBI and Jaeger was 2-4 with an RBI.
Game Two: LC - 3 Mary Hardin-Baylor - 0
Freshman pitcher Madison Vige was outstanding in her first career start with the Lady Wildcats, throwing a complete game 3-0 shutout over ASC West foe Mary Hardin-Baylor.
The right hander from Denham Springs, La. went all seven innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six to pick up the win.
Candice Biggs,
Laura Gulotta-Parrish, and
Brianna Hall had an RBI each to lead the Lady Wildcats.
Courtney Ivey and Megan Pierson both went 2-3 at the plate, contributing four of the Lady Wildcats' nine hits in the contest.
The LC defense was outstanding against the Crusaders, as Pearson, Jaeger, and Gulotta-Parrish all made noteworthy plays to keep UMHB off the scorboard.
