Wildcats lose a pair at MC

CLINTON, Miss. – The Louisiana College baseball team came up short in both halves of an American Southwest Conference East Division doubleheader against Mississippi College here Saturday. LC fell to the Choctaws 6-1 and 3-1 to drop the three-game series 2-1.

The Wildcats (10-10, 4-2 ASC East) struggled at the plate in both contests and amassed a combined 11 hits. Mississippi College (12-13, 5-4 ASC East) struck out 14 total batters.

Junior outfielder Adam Broussard (Nederland, Texas/Nederland HS) was the most consist LC batter and went a combined 3-for-6 with an RBI. Senior outfielder Steven Bowman (Hammond, La./Hammond HS) went 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Mississippi College's Scott Trousdale (2-1) got the win in the late game after pitching all nine innings and striking out nine.

Greg Uzee (Gretna, La./Archbishop Shaw HS) fell to 1-2 after taking the tough-luck loss in Game 2. He pitched six innings and struck out three while allowing six hits and two earned runs.

In the early game, senior Dustin Fulks (Simpson, La./Simpson HS) was the losing pitcher after surrendering seven hits and five runs in four innings of work. Fulks struck out two batters on the day.

Ryan Glover (5-0) got the win pitching all seven innings of the early game and striking out five.

LCreturns to action Wednesday at 6 p.m. with a non-conference home game against LSU-Shreveport.
