PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College baseball team picked a dramatic way to salvage its three-game home series with Centenary. The Wildcats followed their worst defensive half inning of the year with a clutch bottom of the seventh to secure a walkoff 10-9 win over the gents.

LC (9-8), which had fallen 4-1 Friday and 7-5 in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader, blew a 7-5 lead in the top of the seventh thanks to two errors and that lead to four runs, three unearned.

The Wildcats followed with a three-run bottom of the seventh that was capped by a walkoff two-RBI single by freshman first baseman Troy Green (Pineville, La./Pineville HS).

Senior shortstop Jordan Marks (Alexandria, La./Holy Savior Menard), who picked up the win pitching in relief, led off the seventh with a single.

Sophomore catcher Taylor Beavers (Georgetown, La./Tioga HS) reached on a fielder's choice and Marks legged it out to second base to beat the throw.

Senior outfielder NyKellan Isaac (Hammond, La./Hammond HS) followed with a single of his own and freshman Cary Myers (Zachary, La./Zachary HS) delivered on a pinch-hit RBI single to set up Green.

Pineville High product Trey Lavespere took the loss for Centenary.

Marks went 4-for-4  with a homerun, three runs scored and two RBI to lead the Wildcats offense.

In the early game, LC led 7-5 in the seventh but surrendered a pair of unearned runs and eventually lost in nine innings of a game originally slated for seven.

Cole Prejean (Brusly, La./Brusly HS) took the loss for LC pitching in relief of lefty Dustin Fulks (Simpson, La./Simpson HS), who had pitched well in the first six innings of the game and struck six while allowing one run on five hits and a walk.
