PINEVILLE, La. – The power was present in Louisiana College junior shortstop
Daniele Wilson's bat Tuesday night. The native of Destrehan and graduate of Archbishop Chappelle provided a homerun in each half of a doubleheader sweep of Centenary.
Louisiana College (11-1) won 10-1 in the first game and 4-0 in the second as Centenary fell to 0-11 on the year.
Wilson connected hit a solo homerun in the first contest, a line drive over the left field wall then followed with a towering three-run shot deep over the center field wall in the second contest.
Wilson went a combined 4-for-7 with three runs scored and five RBI.
Junior leftfielder
Meggie Burkett (West Monroe, La./West Ouachita HS) went a combined 3-for-5 with three runs scored and senior third baseman
Devan Greene (Kaplan, La./Kaplan HS) went 4-for-6 with two runs scored and two driven in.
Junior
Jordan Waldroup (Calhoun, La./West Ouachita HS) got the win in the first game and improved to 5-1 on the year after pitching six innings and allowing five hits.
Freshman
Tori Davis (West Monroe, La./West Ouachita HS) was the winner in the second contest. She pitched four innings and struck out five while walking two and allowing two hits.
Lynsi Unruh and Sierra Bailey were the respective losing pitchers for Centenary, each falling to 0-4 on the year.
Centenary's top offensive performers were Jessica McDonald and Cadie Hancock, both of who went a combined 2-for-5.
LC returns to action Friday at home with a 2 p.m. American Southwest East Division doubleheader against Ozarks.
