PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College women extended their home winning streak to 35 games Saturday, defeating American Southwest Conference opponent LeTourneau 95-55.
Louisiana College (18-2, 15-1 ASC) has not lost a game at home, the H.O. West Field House) since Jan. 31, 2009.
The game was close in the first half as LeTourneau (11-10, 7-10 ASC) trailed LC just 37-33 at the break.
The Lady Cats, however, went on a 58-22 run in the second half to secure the convincing win.
LC forced 48 turnovers on the night, 25 by virtue of a steal, with 58 points resulting.
Senior guard
Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) led all scorers with 23 and was among six Lady Cats to score nine points or more in the game.
Junior forward
Natosha Gottlieb (Alexandria, La./Bolton HS) scored 12 while freshman forward
Kala Chenier (Bossier City, La./Calvary Baptist Academy) and junior guard
Shaina Howard (Scott, La./Acadiana HS) put up 10 apiece.
Freshmen
Keana Frank (Elton, La./Kinder HS) and
Danisha Allison (Oakdale, La./Oakdale HS) scored nine points apiece but put up solid numbers across the scoresheet.
Frank, a 5-foot guard, made eight steals and dished out six assists while Allison, a forward, pulled 14 rebounds in the contest.
LeTourneau was led by DeShante Thomas, who put up a 12-point, 18-rebound double-double.
LC returns to action Thursday night with a road trip to ASC opponent Ozarks.
