BELTON, Texas – The Louisiana College softball team got off to a rousing start in 2012 with a two-game, neutral-field sweep of Texas-Lutheran. The Lady Cats were 10-0 and 7-2 winners on Friday.

Junior Daniele Wilson went a combined 5-for-7 on the day with a homerun, a double, three runs scored and seven RBI.

Meagan Pearson went 3-for-6 with a homerun and two RBI while Devan Greene, Chelsea Allen and Laura Gulotta-Parrish each went 2-for-6. Gulotta-Parrish, playing the first games of her college career, also added a homerun.

Jordan Waldroup got the win in the first game while Leslie Eastham was the winning pitcher for game two.

LC returns to action Saturday with a doubleheader at Mary Hardin-Baylor.
