PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College baseball team secured a series win over Howard Payne Saturday with a 3-1 win over the Yellow Jackets in the first half of a doubleheader. While LC dropped the second game 9-2, a 15-5 showing Friday night gave the  Wildcats the series edge.

Reigning All-American Jordan Marks had a monster series, going 6-for-12 with a homerun, five RBI and three runs scored over three games.

Sophomore Matt Scott went 6-for-11 with three RBI and junior first baseman Mike Doughty went 4-for-12 with three RBI.

Senior Dustin Fulks got the win on Saturday, going six innings and striking out nine, this on the heels of Justin Reed's four-strike-out, six-inning win on Friday.

Korey Kottenbrook struck out four in the game three loss.

LC returns to action Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. with a non-conference visit to LSU-Shreveport.
