PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College women ended their regular season in style, defeating rival Mississipi College 102-75 to enter the 2012 American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament on the heels of three-straight 100-plus point games.
On Monday, the game was never in doubt as the Lady Cats (22-3, 18-2 ASC) lead 53-33 at the end of the first half and outscored MC (16-9, 13-7 ASC) by seven in the second.
Four Louisiana College women reached double figures on the night.
Freshman
Keana Frank (Elton, La./Kinder HS), at 5-foot the shortest player on the floor virtually every night, had a game-high 20 to go along with five assists while junior forward
Natosha Gottlieb (Alexandria, La./Bolton HS) put up 17..
Senior guard
Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) scored 16 points and pulled six rebounds while senior
Shasidy Ludgood (Inglewood, Cal./St. Mary's Academy) added 14.
Mississippi College was paced by an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double by Madelyn Cross.
LC's next game will be Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when the Lady Cats open the ASC Tournament against Hardin-Simmons at H.O. West.
