Baseball's gallant effort falls just short versus No. 22 Trinity

AUSTIN, Texas – The Louisiana College baseball team gave No. 22 Trinity quite the run for its money but came up one run short Saturday, falling by a score of 1-0.

LC (0-2) got a combined six-hitter from Greg Uzee (Gretna, La./Shaw HS), Dustin Fulks (Simpson, La./Simpson HS) and Cole Prejean (Brusly, La./Brusly HS) but Trinity (4-0) got a 13-strikeout, complete-game, five-hitter by Ben Klimesh.

Trinity scored its only run in the top of the fifth inning.

Jordan Marks (Alexandria, La./Holy Savior Menard) was LC's top offensive performer, going 2-for-4 on the day.

LC returns to action Monday with its home opener, a 4 p.m. meeting with cross-town rival LSU-Alexandria.
