Game 1 Box Score / Game 2 Box Score
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The first half of the Lady Cats four-game series at Ozarks went about as well as could be hoped with Louisiana College taking home two Friday victories, 6-1 and 13-6.

LC (24-4, 11-3 ASC East) and Ozarks (5-23, 0-14 ASC East) will conclude their American Southwest Conference divisional series Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Lady Cats will no doubt look to duplicate their Friday afternoon performance, one that featured dominant showing both in the circle and at the plate.

Senior Rene' Schwartzenburg (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) was the winning pitcher in both contests and improved to 14-1 on the year.

The ace right-hander pitched all seven innings of Game 1 and struck out 14 and the last 2 2/3 innings of Game 2 in relief of fellow senior Kelly Williams (West Monroe, La./St. Thomas More), striking out one and allowing no hits en route to the win.

Offensively, the Lady Cats were paced by senior catcher Amber Thomas (Rosepine, La./Rosepine HS) and junior outfielder Cassie DeCoste (Pineville, La./Pineville HS).

Thomas went a combined 3-for-7 with a home run, two runs scored and five RBI while DeCoste went a combined 4-for-7 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored.

The pair were the only batters of note in Game 1, both going 1-for-3 with DeCoste adding and RBI and run scored and Thomas two RBI.

In Game 2, Thomas and DeCoste were joined by a collection of heavy-swinging Lady Cats in the form of Kelsey Brown (Rayne, La./Notre Dame-Crowley/Hinds CC), Stephanie Jaeger (Haughton, La./Haughton HS) and Brittany Menard (Baton Rouge, La./Parkview Baptist).

Brown connected on a three-run home run to bring LC's four-bag total in Game 2 to a three while Jaeger went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored and Menard 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.
