ALPINE, Texas - It was, no doubt, the toughest day at the office the LC Wildcats have seen this season. Louisiana College dropped both halves of a doubleheader against Sul Ross State, 7-3 and 7-6, to suffered their first series loss of the season.

LC (11-6), had more hits than the Lobos (6-6) in both games, but couldn't secure a victory.

In Game 1, the WIldcats scored three runs on nine hits but gave up two unearned runs to Sul Ross on three errors.

Korey Kottenbrook (2-1) took the loss in the contest, pitching 3 1/3 innings.

Batting wise, LC wasn't bad, as Cole Bagbey  and Jordan Marks both went 2-for-3 at the plate with Marks adding three RBI.

In Game 2, LC produced its six runs on 14 hits and committed no errors but still suffered a loss thanks to seven runs on 12 hits for the Lobos.

It was a defeat that overshadowed a masterful pitching performance by senior Josh Foster (2-1), who took the loss despite striking out 11 while pitching six innings of relief behind fellow senior Justin Reed.

In the second contest, Bagbey was again hot, going 3-for-4.

Brandt Daigle went 3-for-5, Adam Broussard 2-for-4 with a run scored, Mike Doughty 2-for-5 and Cody Laprarie 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in that contest.

The Wildcats will attempt to salvage a game from this series Saturday at noon with a single, nine-inning game.
