ALPINE, Texas - The LC baseball team's tough road trip to West Texas concluded Saturday in much the way it began, with the Wildcats dropping a tough one to Sul Ross State, this time 11-9 in the last of a three-game series in which the Lobos swept Louisiana College.

LC (11-7), which fell to 1-5 on the road with the loss, got nine runs on nine hits but committed four errors in the game while Sul Ross (7-6) scored its 11 runs on 14 hits while committing three errors.

Having faced the Lobos in a doubleheader on Friday, the Wildcats employed five different pitchers on Saturday. The fourth of that group, freshman Brennan Russell, took the loss, pitching behind Jordan Marks, Madison Lachney and Justin Lacy and before Cole Prejean.

Marks finished what was a very productive week at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI.

Junior Adam Broussard went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in the game.

Louisiana College returns to action on March 11 and 12 with its American Southwest Conference East Division opener, a three -game series with Mississippi College that begins with a single game at 6 p.m. Friday and concludes with a doubleheader at noon on Saturday.
