PINEVILLE, La. - There was an offensive explosion here Tuesday night when Louisiana College took on LeTourneau in a non-conference contest. Although neither team struggled to plate runs, LC pulled out a 14-9 victory after scoring 10 runs in the fourth inning.
The Wildcats (14-8) - who scored their 14 runs on 15 hits while committing three errors - trailed 6-4 heading into the fourth inning but sent 13 batters to the plate, produced six hits (three doubles), scored double-digit runs in an inning for the first time this season and blew open the lead.
LeTourneau (10-8), which scored its nine runs on 16 hits with one error, spread their runs around, picking up three in the third, three in the fourth and one run in the sixth, eighth and ninth.

Mike Byrnes used on the night, which was his plan heading into the contest, earned the win pitching in relief in the fourth inning.
Kirby Cantalamessa (0-2), another reliever, took the loss after surrendering three earned runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Cody Laprarie (Bentley, La./Grant HS/LSU-Alexandria) had an amazing day at the plate, going 3-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Mike Doughty (Crowley, La./Crowley HS/LSU-Eunice), who went 2-for-3 with a run scored and four RBI.

Anthony Benoit (Lafayette, La./St. Micheal's) went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and four RBI of his own while senior
Brandt Daigle (Alexandria, La./Alexandria Senior HS) went 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI and sophomore
Adam Broussard (Nederland, TX / Nederland HS/Stephen F. Austin/Baltimore City CC) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Senior
Chris Waguespack (Destrehan, La./St. Charles Catholic/Delgado CC) rounded out the Wildcats' top performers with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate.
Garrett Methvin was tops for LeTourneau going 3-for-4 with four RBI. Josh Francis went 3-for-5 with a run scored.
LC has the rest of the week off and will not return to action until next Tuesday when the Wildcats visit NAIA opponent and cross-parish rival LSU-Alexandria.
