PINEVILLE, La. – Louisiana College entered Monday afternoon's doubleheader against Jarvis Christian with a total of two homeruns on the season, both from the bat of Jordan Marks. The Wildcats more than doubled that in the first contest and went on to sweep the Bulldogs by a count of 12-7 and 15-3.

Offense was the theme of the day as LC (11-4) put up a combined 27 runs on 20 hits while the Bulldogs (3-9) scored 10 runs on 15 hits.

Marks, first baseman Mike Doughty and third baseman Brandt Daigle provided one homerun apiece in the first half of the doubleheader with Doughty and Daigle smashing three-run homers and Marks a two-run shot during the course of the game.

As hot as the LC bats were, the Wildcat pitching staff were equally adept at fanning Bulldog batters.

Stuart Morgan, Josh Foster, Justin Reed and Jordan Meisner combined to strike out 14 batters in Game 1 with Foster (2-0) taking the win after striking out seven. Colton Peek (0-1) took the loss for Jarvis Christian in the first contest.

In Game2, LC blew it open early, scoring nine runs in the second en route to the 15-3 win. In that inning, LC sent 13 players to the plate and benefitted from a three-RBI double by Marks as well as a one- and two-RBI single by freshman Matt Scott who played at third in place of Daigle in the second game.

In the second game, it was LC's Chris Bridges, Tyler Keowen, Corey Elvir and Brennan Russell combining for six strikeouts, bringing the Wildcats' strikeout tally for the day to 20.

Keowen (1-0) was the winning pitcher in the second game while Sameer Kelley (0-3) took the loss.

LC will next take to the road, in a big way, traveling more than 12 hours to Alpine in West Texas for a three-game series against the Sul Ross State Lobos. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday and a single, nine-inning game on Saturday.
