Lady Cats set two records in win over Sul Ross

PINEVILLE, La. – Records were set Saturday and the Louisiana College women's basketball team reached the century mark for the second straight game in a 105-60 rout of American Southwest Conference opponent Sul Ross State.

LC (6-1, 4-0 ASC) set school records in most three-pointers made (13) and attempted (39) in a game. The old mark for three-pointers made (12) has stood since 2001 and three-pointers attempted 1997.

The Lady Cats outscored the Lobos (1-5, 0-4 ASC) 62-29 in the first half and were never seriously threatened in the second.

On the night, LC forced Sul Ross into 40 turnovers, 17 by virtue of a steal.

Senior guard Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) was the star of the game for LC putting up a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Three other Lady Cats reached double figures.

Forward Natosha Gottlieb (Alexandria, La./Bolton HS) scored 16 and made four steals, forward Melody Criswell scored 14,
blocked two shots and pulled down eight rebounds and guard Shaina Howard (Scott, La./Acadiana HS) scored 13.

Freshman forward Skylar Chenevert (Plainview, La./Plainview HS) finished with nine points and nine rebounds.

Sul Ross post Krista Ford was the game's high scorer with 28 points and eight rebounds to go along with a 13-for-14 showing at the free throw line.

Next up for LC is a visit to rival Mississippi College on Tuesday.
