AUSTIN, Texas – The Louisiana College women's basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped on the road Monday via an 82-71 loss to the Concordia Tornados in American Southwest Conference play.
The Lady Cats (8-2, 6-1 ASC), who forced the Tornados into 35 turnovers while making 21 steals, shot just 30 percent from the field on the night and 14 percent from the three-point line, where they made 4-of-28.
Concordia (7-0, 6-0 ASC) shot 52 percent from the field and outrebounded LC 52-41 on the day.
Four Concordia women reached double figure scoring with Lashonda Luckey putting up a game-high 24 and Shamika Singleton a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double. Termeka Canada scored 13 and Christen McLee 10.
Junior forward
Natosha Gottlieb (Alexandria, La./Bolton HS) was the only LC player in double figures with 18. Freshman forward Danisha Alison (Oakdale, La./Oakdale HS) scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds and sophomore forward
Melody Criswell (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) added nine points.
Louisiana College returns to action on Jan. 5 with a home game against Hardin-Simmons.
