BELTON, Texas – For the third time in the last four games, the Louisiana College women's basketball team eclipsed the 100-point mark. The Lady Cats' most recent trip past the century mark occurred Saturday afternoon in a 106-73 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor.
LC (8-1, 6-0 American Southwest Conference) outscored UMHB (1-8. 0-6) 54-31 in the first half and 52-42 in the second and forced the Cru into 37 turnovers, 25 coming courtesy of a steal.
On the night, Louisiana College scored 44 points off turnover.
The Lady Cats also continued their trend of spreading the ball around on offense with nine players scoring at least six points on the night. Four of those players reached double-figure scoring on the night.
Freshman forward
Danisha Allison (Oakdale, La./Oakdale HS) was the game's top scorer with 16 points. Senior guard
Shasidy Ludgood (Inglewood, Cal./Tusculum Univ.) added 15, while freshmen
Kala Chenier (Bossier City, La./Calvary Baptist) and
Skylar Chenevert (Plainview, La./Plainview HS) added 11 apiece.
Senior guard
Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) added seven points and nine rebounds.
Lauren Reece and Brittany Zamora scored 13 apiece to lead the Cru in scoring.
LC will return to action Monday night with a visit to ASC opponent Concordia in Austin, Texas. This will be the Lady Cats' last game before the Christmas break.
