BEAUMONT, Texas – The Wildcats got their first taste of live action Monday night with a trip to Lamar for an exhibition showdown. Louisiana College, dressing just 11 players, struggled against the NCAA Division I Cardinals, eventually falling by a count of 101-39.
Lamar outscored LC 51-26 in the first half and 50-13 in the second.
Shaun Johnson led the Wildcats in scoring with 12 points while senior point guard
Jelani Mitchell added 10.
Four players scored in double figures for Lamar. Charlie Harper, Mike James and Brandon Davis scored 18 apiece and Anthony Miles 12.
LC returns to action on November 15 with a trip to McNeese State in Lake Charles for a second exhibition contest.
