KERRVILLE, Texas – The Louisiana College women's basketball team opened conference play with a convincing win over Schreiner. In the American Southwest opener for both teams, the Lady Cats came out on top, 82-59.

Schreiner (1-2, 0-1 ASC) kept it close for a half and trailed LC (3-1, 1-0 ASC) just 29-24 at the half but a 53-point second half for the Lady Cats gave Louisiana College the lopsided win.

Junior forward Natosha Gottlieb (Alexandria, La./Bolton HS) scored 14 points to lead the LC offensive attack.

Senior guard Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) added 14 and freshman forward Danisha Allison (Oakdale, La./Oakdale HS) 10 for LC.

Schreiner, however, had the game's top scorer in Olivia Swarner who hit 14-of-18 free throws en route to an 18-point, 16-rebound double-double.

Louisiana College will round out its conference-opening road trip Monday with a visit to Texas Lutheran.
