JACKSON, Miss. – The Louisiana College women's basketball team finished off the Millsaps Tournament in style Saturday night, downing the host team 87-48 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Louisiana College outscored the Majors (1-1) 42-24 in the first half and 45-24 in the second.

As was the case the case a season ago, the Lady Cats' bread and butter was a tenacious defense. On Saturday, LC forced 32 turnovers and made 21 steals.

Offensively, sophomore forward Melody Criswell (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) was the top performer and scored 18 points.

While no other Lady Cat reached double-figure scoring, six more put up eight or nine points.

Millsaps was led by Shante Morton, who had a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Next up for Louisiana College is a trip to Loyola in New Orleans Tuesday night.
