LONGVIEW, Texas – The Lady Wildcats didn't, as has been the case most of the season, have five players reach double figure scoring. Louisiana College did, however, have six players at or near that mark Saturday afternoon and made short work of LeTourneau, 93-59, in American Southwest Conference play.
LC (17-1, 13-1), ranked in the top 20 in both the D3Hoops.com and ESPN USA Today polls a firmly in control in the ASC East race, shot 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range and forced 27 LeTourneau turnovers, 20 via steal.
Of course, the real story of the day was the lights-out shooting of LC, which was led by senior All-American Tillisha Givens, who posted a 22-point, 16-rebound double-double.
Givens shot 82 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
Also adding points for the Lady Cats were Kayla Guidry (16), Natosha Gottlieb (13 points, six rebounds), Roslyn Wilmer (16), LaQuita Armstead (eight) and Shasidy Ludgood (eight).
LeTourneau (2-17, 1-13), the last-place team in the ASC East, had just one player to reach double figures, Laura Hahn with 13.
LC will next be in action on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. against Texas-Tyler, the school's annual “Fill the Field House” game, in which fans will be admitted for free and the Louisiana College Athletics Department will collective funds for the ASC's “Make a Change” charity.
