Game 1 Box Score / Game 2 Box Score
TYLER, Texas – It was another tough day for the Louisiana College baseball team in its series against the top team in the American Southwest Conference East Division.

The Wildcats (11-20, 4-8 ASC East), who fell 19-4 on Friday night, dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader against the Patriots (26-8, 14-0 ASC East), 8-1 and 19-8.

Offense was not hard to come by for Texas-Tyler, which scored a combined 46 on 56 hits in the three-game series.

LC managed to score 13 runs on 26 hits but could not match the firepower of the Patriots, who had 19 runs on 23 hits in game three alone.

Worse, the Wildcats committed eight errors in the three games, five of which came in game three. Texas-Tyler committed three combined errors.

Freshman Anthony VanGessel (Tioga, La./Tioga High) took the loss in the first game Saturday after pitching five innings and giving up four earned runs.

Hunter King (Covington, La./Covington High) fell to 1-3 on the year after taking the loss in the series finale.

Chase Willard (8-0) was the winning pitcher in game one, pitching seven innings and striking out four while allowing just four hits and walking just two.

No Wildcat had more than one hit in game one.

Brand Daigle (Alexandria, La./Alexandria Senior High), Corey Jones (Ruston, La./Ruston High), Cody Laprarie (Dry Prong, La./Grant High) and Jonathan Ettinger (Vicksburg, Miss./Warren Central High) were the only Wildcats to hit safely in game one.

LC's lone run of the first game came on a sacrifice RBI by Mike Doughty (Crowley, La./Crowley High) that scored Laprarie.

In the final game of the weekend, Texas-Tyler's Matt Schimpf (3-0) was the winning pitcher, going five innings, striking out no one, walking one and allowing just six hits.

The Wildcats did manage to put together their best offensive outing of the series and were led by senior third baseman Walt McGee (Pineville, La./Pineville High) who went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
Jon Michael Kidd (West Monroe, La./West Monroe High) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Doughty went 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Ettinger went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Steven Bowman (Hammond, La./Hammond High) went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

LC returns to action Tuesday night at 6 p.m. with a non-conference road game against LSU-Alexandria.
