PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats continued their undefeated steak in grand fashion here Tuesday night, opening American Southwest Conference East Division play with two-game sweep of Texas Dallas, 8-0 and 9-5, in a home doubleheader.

Game one was par for the course for the team that mercy-ruled four of its six opponents at last weekend's Leadoff Classic tournament in Panama City, Fla., a tournament the Lady Cats eventually won.

It took just six innings for LC, with ace Rene' Schwartzenburg on the mound, to hand the Comets an 8-0 defeat.

Schwartzenburg (12-0), the reigning and back-to-back ASC East Pitcher of the week, allowed just two hits and struck out six while the Lady Wildcat offense was good for eight runs on eight hits with no errors.

Mary Alice Roy, whose two-game stat line on the day red four hits in seven at-bats with three runs scored and five driven in, went 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI in the first contest.

Also making a big impact was Ashleigh Clement, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Allison Frye was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored while Brittany Menard was 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

In Game two, things got a bit hairy for the Lady Wildcats, who squandered a 5-1 lead in the top of the sixth but rebounded to scored four in the bottom of the sixth to notch the 9-5 win.
Roy was again the top performer for LC, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored ad two RBI.

Freshman Leslie Eastham went 2-for-2 on the day with one run scored and one driven thanks to blasting her first career homerun over the left-field fence.
Clement went 1-for-3 with two RBI in game two.

Junior Kelly Williams, who has been sidelined with an injury for much of the early season, picked up her first win of the season going six innings and striking out three and walking one while allowing six hits and two earned runs.

After Tuesday's sweep of Texas Dallas, LC's record now stands at 18-0 overall and 2-0 in ASC East play.

The Lady Wildcats, who just wrapped up a stretch of eight games in five days, will get a short break before returning to action Friday at 2 p.m. in Longview, Texas, against ASC East foe LeTourneau.
