CLINTON, Miss. - The Louisiana College baseball team got off to an auspicious start in American Southwest Conference East Division play, falling 8-0 to No. 21 Mississippi College in the conference opener.

The Wildcats, facing MC's Tyler Seaman, hit safely only two times and had just four base runners (Seaman hit a batsman and the Choctaws committed one fielding error).

Jonathan Ettinger and Anthony Benoit were the only LC batters to notch a hit in the contest, one which left Louisiana College 6-10 overall and 0-1 in the ASC East.

Defensively, the Wildcats committed five errors while allowing 14 hits.

Seaman got the win, pitching eight full innings and striking out 10 while issuing no walks, one hit batter and no earned runs.

Dustin Tubre (1-2) took the loss for the Wildcats, who will conclude their weekend series with MC today at noon with back-to-back seven-inning games.
