ALPINE, Texas - The game was never really in doubt when the undefeated Louisiana College women went into the Gallego Center to take on winless Sul Ross State. After a double-double by preseason All-American Tillisha Givens and two lopsided halves, the Lady Cats left town with a 93-48 win.
Givens (Monroe, La./Ouachita Parish HS) scored 21 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and made three assists and three steals in one of her most complete games of the season.
She was one of four Lady Cats to reach double figures in scoring.
Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) was one rebound short of her own double-double, scoring 20 points, grabbing nine boards and making three steals while Kayla Guidry (Alexandria, La./Peabody HS/UTEP) was good for 15 points, five assists and five rebounds.
Natosha Gottlieb (Alexandria, La./Bolton HS) put up 12 points while freshman Melody Criswell (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) put up nine in the win, one that improved LC's overall record to 6-0 with a 4-0 mark in American Southwest Conference play.
Sul Ross (0-7, 0-4) was led in scoring by Madalyn Lopez with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The game marked the end of the longest road trip of the season for LC, which departed from home Wednesday morning and ventured to Brownwood, Texas, then Alpine in West Texas.
The Lady Cats' next contest will be back on their home court in H.O. West Field House, Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m., when LC will welcome ASC opponent Concordia.
